How to Clear Inventory in Minecraft
This article is for Minecraft Java Edition.
There are many situations where you might need to clear your inventory in Minecraft. This guide will show you several ways to do so.
The X Button
If you are in Creative Mode, it's really easy to clear your inventory. Just open your inventory, and you will find an [X] button on the bottom-right side, as shown below.

Simply hold

is:
However, if you execute this command without any parameters, it will target yourself and clear your entire inventory. For those new to Minecraft's command system, just follow these simple steps:
- Open the chat or command panel (T by default).
- Type in
/clear
- Press Enter

Okay, you should see that your inventory is empty now.
If You Are in Survival Mode

command discussed above.

In Minecraft, you can throw an entire stack of items at once by pressing
Another quick way is to put all your items into a chest. While the chest is open, hold
Just Die
This method is drastic, but it absolutely works. Just die, and your inventory will be empty when you respawn (unless the keepInventory
gamerule is enabled).
